PLOT.

From the perspective of a young girl, we see life in Pantanal, Nayarit. She lives out her days as her parents work, while she wanders in the fields. Exposed to the rural existence in a place where alcoholism and domestic violence can’t outshine a girl’s sense of wonder. The fields transform as the months go by, only for the young girl to endure. From the fields burning to new growth, we see a story that catches the sweetness of youth alongside the production of sugar in a space far removed from the Western gaze.
